About you
You love talking to people and are great at fostering trusted relationships. You may not have worked in venture capital or funds management, but you are keen to learn, and we are keen to share what we have learnt. If you have experience in investor relations, startups or venture capital, that’s great too but not essential.
Whilst you will mostly be investor facing, you are passionate about founders and helping them grow their companies by helping get the capital they need.
You probably want or need flexibility, which is great because as a part time role you can spread the time throughout the week.
You may be located in Southeast Queensland or Adelaide. But as this role has flexibility you could be somewhere else in Australia too!
About the role
Working with the investment team, this role will see you in regular contact with our investor community and syndicate members, and will be central to enhancing relations with investors.
This role is predominately focussed on supporting and communicating with our investors. Specifically it's about:
- Understanding what each investor likes to invest in and what their criteria are for them to consider new opportunities.
- Inviting investors and partners to upcoming Tribe events, offsites and trade missions.
- Fostering investor interest in our open investment opportunities and organising for them to attend our investor Q&A sessions or to talk with one of the Tribe investment team to learn more.
- Seeking new co-investment opportunities. Most of our investors are active investors, and they may see opportunities that they want us to have a look at too.
- Supporting investors through our investment process and maintaining our investor databases and systems.
But it’s not always talking to investors, you’ll also:
- Be part of our investment pitch calls so you can learn about the founders, their needs, and the opportunity. We generally do these on a Wednesday.
- Attend investment committee meetings so you can learn and understand our investment analysis and process.
- We’d love you to attend our investor events, but appreciate this may not always be possible as some will be after hours.
We believe the role requires 12-18 hours per week and are flexible as to when the work is done. If you can only work in between school hours as an example, that’s perfect.
