Mission Launch & ConnectionEveryone makes their own way to London and checks into the hotel. Then we officially kickoff with a mission briefing and a chance to get to know your mission leaders and fellow mission participants. Then we head to a local British pub to meet with the other Australian and New Zealand delegations who are also in town for London Tech Week (expect 120+ of us in total!). Finally, we end the day by sneaking away for a private cohort dinner (just our delegation) to connect and bond.
Understanding The UK OpportunityDay 2 starts with a morning of market briefings and insights. We invite special guest speakers to give you an overview of the UK and European markets, investment landscape, trends, and ecosystems. We have representatives from the different regions of the UK also present on the virtues of the areas outside of London. Then in the afternoon we have social events with Austrade and the various Agents General and Trade Commissioners of each of the Australian states and territories. Finally we finish the day with the flagstone Tech Australia event at Australia House, hosted by the Australian British Chamber of Commerce, where you'll network with 300+ individuals from across the UK.
Learning From Those Who Have Done It BeforeDay 3 starts with panels and talks from Australian and New Zealand founders who have successfully expanded into the UK or Europe. They will provide the practice tips and insights into what they did, what they got right, and perhaps most valuably, what they got wrong. Then we head out to do site visits into the offices of local tech scale-ups. We detour via the River Thames for some evening drinks to reflect on the lessons learnt, before our official mission dinner kicks off, joined by local VIP guests and dignitaries.
Creating Your Market Entry PlanDay 4 starts with workshops from our UK partners and supporters. Each workshop will give you the practical steps you need to take in order to scale into the UK market. From visas to bank accounts, hiring talent, grants, incentives, housing and getting your first customers. The day ends with the Official London Tech Week party.
Raising Capital In The UKWe start the day with panel sessions hearing first from local UK angel investors, and then from UK venture capital funds and institutional investors, as they share insights into how to raise capital in the UK market. In the afternoon we then have pitch workshops and roundtables with investors, ahead of an evening pitch event to local investors.
Your Time For MeetingsWe keep the Friday free for you to schedule your own meetings with people you meet during the week - whether they be investors, potential customers, suppliers, partners, advisors or new team members. You can also book a slot in the day with our venture team to dive deep into your business. We finish the day with dinner at a local pub.
Reflecting On The Lessons LearntWe end the mission with a final breakfast, bringing our cohort together to share insights, reflections, lessons from the week and hand out the annual cohort participant awards! We also encourage participants to commit to their 'massive plan of action' to ensure that the week turns into tangible commercial outcomes following the mission.
